We are glad to provide an opportunity for active PMPs and PMI members to learn more knowledge besides Project Management, Mr. Bradley Way, Head of Asia Energy Research, BNP Paribas, will speak on China's Natural Gas Market - Key Growth Issues and Opportunities in AmCham.
Bradley Way is originally from New York and has spent 10 years in Beijing in energy strategy. He has worked as an adviser on energy and utilities projects covering legal, macroeconomic, financial, and strategic issues. He is currently head of Asia Energy research for BNP Paribas, managing a team of 14 advisers throughout Asia. He holds an a MBA from New York’s Fordham University, he is the only foreigner to have completed Peking University’s Finance Masters program, which is conduced entirely in Mandarin, and he holds a BSc from Saint Joseph’s University in the US. He has completed professional training programs in the following areas: oil and gas fiscal regime modeling, bio-fuels and evolving transportation fuel markets, renewable energy in power and transportation fuel applications, technical and commercial aspects of LNG and unconventional gas, oil and gas portfolio development strategies, renewable energy development strategies. He is fluent and literate in Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and is a native English speaker.
The topics will be covered within Mr. Way’s presentation are:
- Global LNG:
■How midstream and downstream assets from players like BP, BG and Shell is increasing trade in LNG, and enabling the 'aggregator' business model in gas.
■A brief overview of the impacts from the Japan crisis.
- China's gas market:
■Growing marginal cost of supply - volume and cost changes over the next decade, and how this impacting the market.
■Unconventional gas - will this happen? Who has what interests in making this work?
■What will China's gas market look like in the future?
■Strategies for players in the gas market, both IOCs and NOCs.
